Private Client

Kitchen/Dining Room

Project Brief

This project involved redesigning a private client’s dining room and refreshing their existing kitchen without replacing the units. The goal was to brighten the space, which naturally lacks light, and make it more inviting and functional for both daily use and family gatherings. I proposed spraying the existing kitchen units to modernise them while preserving their structure. Drawing inspiration from the dark kitchen worktop, which featured challenging tones of green and orange, I sourced a unique light fixture that subtly blended those hues with a neutral and a soft blue, tying in with a previous lounge design to maintain flow throughout the home. To maximize the dining area’s usability, I designed a bespoke built-in seating unit that includes under-seat storage and an integrated desk, offering flexible functionality as both a cosy nook and additional seating when entertaining. The final result is a warm, cohesive space that balances practicality with thoughtful design.

“We recently had the pleasure of working with Caitlin Evans on the redecoration of our Lounge, and we couldn’t be happier with the results. From our very first meeting, Caitlin impressed us with her professionalism, creative flair, and ability to really listen. She took the time to understand what we were looking for, guided us through the design process with confidence and warmth, and delivered a scheme that exceeded all expectations. We absolutely love our new Lounge!”
